To be of service to the community while keeping alive the traditions of those who have served their country during times of war.  

About Our Post

Our post was named in honor ofWilliam Brian Lutz who was born in Saline Township, the second child of John andAda May Tucker Lutz. He attended Forbes School through the eighth grade andgraduated from Saline High School, class of 1913, as salutatorian. He attendedEastern Michigan Teacher College in Ypsilanti and taught at Dell school 1914 -1916. In the fall of 1916 he entered Michigan Agricultural College, planning tobecome a chemical engineer.

Will enlisted in the service in May1917. After a mouth of training in Lansing, he went to Grayling, Camp McArthurin Waco Texas, and Camp Merritt in New Jersey.

William sailed to France March sixth, 1918 with the 119th USA Field Artillery. He was killed action August 10,1918 near Fumo, France. His final resting-place is Oakwood Cemetery, SalineMichigan.
